Historical Note
Andelot Stock Farms, Inc. is a cattle and livestock farm in Worton, Kent County, Maryland. In addition to livestock, the farm produces peaches, apples, alfalfa, corn, soybeans, and dairy products.
Andelot, Inc. was established in 1930 as a real and personal property company in Wilmington, Delaware. It is associated with the du Pont family. In 1935, Andelot Stock Farms, Inc. merged into Andelot, Inc. The name changed to Andelot Farm.
Lammot du Pont Copeland (1905-1983) owned the farm from 1930 until his death in 1983, when his daughter, Louisa Duemling (1936-), inherited Andelot Farm. The property was donated by Duemling to the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy and the Maryland Environmental Trust in 2009.
Scope and Contents
These two volumes are a stock transfer book and minute book documenting the merger of Andelot Stock Farms, Inc. into Andelot, Inc. in 1935. The stock transfer book has two certificates laid in: one for 160 shares of Andelot Stock Farms, Inc., issued to Lammot du Pont Copeland, dated May 2, 1932, and the other for 160 shares, transferring shares from Lammot du Pont Copeland to Andelot, Inc. on the same date. There is also a letter dated January 18, 1935, regarding Andelot stock transfer.
The Andelot Stock Farms, Inc. minute book contains the record of the special meeting of stockholders, effecting the merger into Andelot, Inc. on November 27, 1935.
