Abstract

Paris T. Carlisle (circa 1802-1871) owned a general store in Frederica, Delaware during the early to mid-1800s. This small collection includes Paris T. Calisle's day book for his general store in Frederica, Delaware, as well as a Stock Book ledger recording wages and the state of stocks of brass, copper, and iron wire in the mid 1800s.

Biographical Note

Paris T. Carlisle (1802-1871) owned a general store in Frederica, Delaware during the early to mid-1800s. He married Rachel Luff Carlisle (1793-1867) in 1833. The couple's son Paris T. Carlisle Jr. (1834-1919) was also a dry goods and grocery merchant; later in life he became a prominent businessman and financier in Frederica.

This small collection includes Paris T. Carlisle's day book for his general store in Frederica, Delaware, dated 1826 September 6-1857 August 13; as well as a stock book ledger recording wages for work done in 1829 and the state of stocks of brass, copper, and iron wire.
