Biographical Note
Paris T. Carlisle (1802-1871) owned a general store in Frederica, Delaware during the early to mid-1800s. He married Rachel Luff Carlisle (1793-1867) in 1833. The couple's son Paris T. Carlisle Jr. (1834-1919) was also a dry goods and grocery merchant; later in life he became a prominent businessman and financier in Frederica.
