Biographical Note
Richard Hunt Brown (1903-1978) was an engineer and president of Automation Consultants, Inc. Brown graduated from Yale University in 1927 with a degree in electrical communications. He served as assistant vice president of International Telephone & Telegraph Corp. and as an automation and communication consultant to the Ernst & Ernst accounting firm. He was an author and frequent lecturer on office automation.
Automation Consultants, Inc. provided a subscription updating service for monthly newsletters, with pages containing reviews and descriptions, prices, and images of new equipment and appliances. The service began in 1955 to keep up-to-date on new machines and trends in electronic data processing.
