Elise Simons du Pont (1849-1919) was the wife of Francis Gurney du Pont (1850-1904), a vice president of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont Company.
Elise Simons was born in Charleston, South Carolina to John Hume Simons (1818-1876) and Eliza Moore Wigfall (1823-1897). On October 13, 1871, Simons married Francis Gurney du Pont. The couple had ten children. The family made their home in Greenville, Delaware.
