Biographical Note
Joel Oberman received his Bachelor of Science in 1958 and his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1965 from the University of Pennsylvania. He joined RCA as a special trainee in 1958 where he worked on packaging for electronic equipment at the laboratory in Camden, New Jersey. In 1960 Oberman transferred to computer systems. While there he was the project engineer responsible for the development of Spectra 70/45 ROM. Then in 1970 he was moved to work in RCA's Solid State Technology Center in Somerville, New Jersey.
Scope and Content
The Joel Oberman photographs contain 21 black and white as well as color photographic prints, 1 negative, and a handful of paper documents. These images depict work done on solid state microprocessors in the 1970s.
