Biographical Note
Richard M. Peterson completed his undergraduate degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and earned a master’s degree in physics from Princeton University. He joined the staff of RCA Laboratories (later the Sarnoff Corporation) in 1979, working there until October 2001. Peterson worked in the knowledge-based systems research group on projects related to user interfaces.
Scope and Content
The Richard M. Peterson papers are composed of specifications and schematics, reports, and correspondence related to Peterson’s work on various projects, such as an electronic ignition control, home information systems like Dimensia and SKIPPER, a touch-screen telephone, and an automated mail service for the United States Postal Service.
