In its early years as a separate company, it continued to produce explosives and dynamite and used advertising styles and devices. This item is a poster depicting a World War I soldier leaving home and telling his hunting dog, "Not this trip Old Pal."

Scope and Content
This item is a colorful advertising poster, one of at least two works done by artist A. D. Fuller for the Hercules Powder Company and printed by the Forbes Lithograph Company. The image depicts a World War I solider leaving home and telling his hunting dog, "Not this trip Old Pal." These images were used on company calendars and as advertising items at stores selling Hercules shooting powder.
