The DuPont Experimental Station is a large industrial research facility founded in 1903; focused on chemistry research. James Bailey was an employee at the DuPont Company for forty years. The materials in this small collection consist of photographs, videos and ephemera related to the DuPont Company.

Historical Note

The DuPont Experimental Station is a large industrial research facility founded in 1903; focused on chemistry research. The facility located on the banks of the Brandywine Creek across from DuPont's first black powder works. Initially, the Experimental Station was to be a small laboratory to screen inventions which were coming into the company from outside independent inventors, but soon its mission was altered and it became a large industrial research facility focused on innovative advancements in chemistry.

Scope and Content

James Bailey was an employee of the DuPont Company for forty years. The materials in the collection consist of photographs, videos and ephemera related to the DuPont Company. There are two photographs of DuPont facilities, a reproduction of a DuPont gunpowder poster and video from DuPont's 200 year anniversary.
