Scope and Content
This collection contains twenty-four Hanes Hosiery Mills Company Winston-Salem manufacturing plants and office stereoviews. The stereoviews were used to demonstrate how nylon stockings were made. The sales kit was used when nylon pantyhose ceased to have seams down the back. The process of making seamless stockings differed from the previous method. The images show workers performing various tasks throughout the manufacturing process. The collection also includes the stereoviewer, stereoviewer instruction booklet, and Floyd Hollenbeck's business card.
