This collection contains both materials used in the preparation of "Delaware Aviation History" and other items that Frebert collected dealing with Delaware aviation, aviators and airports.

Biographical note
George J. Frebert (1929-2002) was a pilot and aviation enthusiast. He learned to fly solo at age 16, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and operated the Dover Litho Printing Company in Dover, DE between 1957 and 1991. He continued flying and restoring vintage airplanes as a hobby. In 1998, he published "Delaware Aviation History" through his printing company.
Scope and Content
The collection contains both materials used in the preparation of "Delaware Aviation History" and other items that Frebert collected dealing with Delaware aviation, aviators and airports. Many of the photographs are original prints, though a number are copied from historical repositories. A majority of the collection focuses on the Bellanca Aircraft Corporation, especially aircraft built by Bellanca in the first half of the twentieth century. Additionally, the collection contains photographs of aviation notables and record-setters, including Elinor Smith and Roger Q. Williams.
