The theme was "Science Finds, Industry Applies, Man Conforms." The fair had more than 48 million visitors. A notable structure was the Sky Ride and one of the highlights was the flight of the Graf Zeppelin airship.
Scope and Contents
This item is a souvenir box containing a diecast miniature toilet and ceramic chamber pot. The box is labeled "A Century of progress," and the miniatures fit into openings in an inner liner with the years "1833" and "1933" printed on it. The bottom of the box has lines for writing a mailing address and a place for a stamp indicated. The toilet has "Tootsietoy" stamped on the bottom. The Tootsietoy Company manufactured diecast toys and doll furniture. In 1961, the company became Tootsietoy/Strombecker.
