World's Fairs or International Expositions are large-scale exhibitions that highlight technology, agriculture and other innovations of national or cultural significance. These fairs are open to the general public and can run for three weeks to six months.

The New York World's Fair took place in Flushing Meadows, Queens from April 30, 1939 to October 31, 1940. Nearly 45 million people visited the New York World's Fair. The theme was "The World of Tomorrow." Notable structures of this fair was the 18-story Perisphere and the 700-foot Trylon obelisk.

Scope and Content

This item is a paper-bound scrapbook with empty pages. The front and back covers have the same color (blues, yellows and whites) artwork rendering of the Trylon and Perisphere with searchlights. The scrapbook was published by The Saalfield Publishing Company in Akron, Ohio, copyright is held by the New York World's Fair.
