Historical Note
The Exposicion Internacional del Centenario commemorated the centennial of the May Revolution in Argentina and its consequent independence from Spain. It was an international exhibition that was held in 1910 between May and November in the capital of Buenos Aires. The themes of the exhibition each had their own pavilion and were Agriculture and Cattle Raising, Industry, Railways and Overland Transport, Hygiene, and Fine Arts. Several Argentine provinces also had pavilions along with several nations including, Paraguay, Spain, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Austria-Hungary, and France.
Scope and Content
The photographs in the album consist of views of France's exhibit at the 1910 Exposicion Internacional del Centenario in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There are photographs of the exterior and interior of the pavilion showing French automobiles, airplanes (including the Bleriot airplane), locomotives, agricultural machinery, steam engines, foods (including chocolate candy bars, mineral waters, wines), and clothing. The photographs are divided into three sections: "Transports", "Agriculture", and "Hygiene."
