Historical Note
The New York World’s Fair of 1939 was held in Flushing Meadows on Long Island. The Fair opened on April 30, 1930 and closed on October 31, 1939. More than 200 buildings were constructed to house exhibits from approximately 60 countries. The New York World’s Fair was attended by over 44 million people.
