Historical Note
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is a chemical company more commonly referred to as the DuPont Company. The Petrochemicals Department was created in 1978 from the Polymer Intermediates Department; it was combined with the Chemicals and Pigments Department to form Du Pont Chemicals in 1990. It was restyled DuPont Chemicals in approximately 1992. The department maintained an office in Albany, New York, during the 1970s until it was closed in 1980, with its business operations moving to Pittsburgh.
