Historical Note
Established in 1909, Finnesey & Kobler manufactured delivery wagons and carriages. The factory was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the northeast corner Brown and 27th Streets and then in 1915 at 26th and Parrish Streets. Later Finnesey & Kobler went on to manufacture automobiles.
Scope and Content
This collection consists of thirteen builders photographs of wagons made by Finnesey & Kobler, N.E. corner Brown and 27th Streets, Philadelphia. Each wagon is posed in front of the office and warehouse. The following firms' wagons are shown: Ackers (coffee bean sellers); Fred P. Bell (grocer); Bradley's Great Western Market (butcher); William Davis (bakery); E. H. Foster (painter); C. G. Hause & Brother (feed and grain); Hutchison Baking Company; Jones's Bread; Keystone Supply & Mfg. Company (plumbers and steam supplies); Thomas Massey & Company; Scott-Powell Dairies with oversize milk can and two drivers; Wilson & Rogers (butcher). Some of the prints have a photographer's stamp verso.
