Founded in Cincinnati, Ohio circa 1908, Zanol developed its own line of household products which the company sold directly to consumers via door-to-door representatives. This collection consists of one salesman's case containing pamphlets, trade cards, trade catalogs, sewing needle cases, books of blank order forms, and other ephemera from the Zanol Products Company.

Historical Note
The Zanol Products Company was a door-to-door consumer goods distributor. Founded in Cincinnati, Ohio circa 1908, Zanol developed its own line of household products which the company sold directly to consumers via door-to-door representatives. Zanol's product line included coffee, spices, baking ingredients, extracts, soft drinks, toiletries, cosmetics, soaps, aspirin, insecticides, and household cleaners and polishes.
Scope and Contents
This consists of one Zanol salesman's case containing pamphlets, trade cards, trade catalogs, sewing needle cases, books of blank order forms, and other ephemera from the Zanol Products Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The pamphlets contain background information about the Zanol Company and product line, as well as advice for the salesman about how to successfully sell Zanol brand items. Of particular note are two license handbooks outlining the right of the salesman to sell directly to customers as granted by the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution. Some items feature the eagle logo of the National Recovery Administration.
