World's Columbian Exposition, the Chicago World's Fair which was staged from May to October, 1893, commemorated 400 years since Columbus's New World arrival. The architecture was a significant part of the event itself; the buildings included large exhibition halls and buildings representing many states.

Scope and Contents

Souvenir flyer from the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893 for the "Largest photo in the world... made by J. C. Strauss, St. Louis." Flyer advertises American Aristotype Paper and G. Cramer photographic dry plates. The front of the flyer has a reproduction of the photograph as well as lists of exhibitors at the fair using American Aristo Paper and Cramer Plates. The back has a map of the location of American photographic exhibits, North Gallery Manufactures and Liberal Arts Building... "compliments of G. Cramer Dry Plate Works, St. Louis, Mo."
