World's Columbian Exposition, the Chicago World's Fair which was staged from May to October, 1893, commemorated 400 years since Columbus's New World arrival. The architecture was a significant part of the event itself; the buildings included large exhibition halls and buildings representing many states.

Scope and Contents

Souvenir paper fan from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago, Illinois. The front contains a colored lithographic bird's-eye-view of the fairgrounds. The reverse is blank except for a damaged label for a store in Connecticut.
