This album contains images of the exteriors of the store, the interiors of the store showing Mrs. Whitter working, Whittier exiting a company car with clothing on hangers, a worker at the press, and Mrs. Whittier with an armed serviceman. There are several snapshots of Mrs. Whittier with a group of young women.

1 leather album, brown : embossed ; 11.5 x 15 in. (closed). Containing 18 photographic prints : b&w ; 4 x 6 in. or smaller. 11 photographic prints : b&w ; 8 x 10 in. The pages of the album were previously detached and have been removed from the album for conservation. Pages are brittle and flaking.
Historical Note
Whittier Cleaning & Dye Works was a dry cleaning small business in Whittier California. Mrs. Willhoit operated the business and eventually put her name in the title, later it was renamed "Mrs Willhoits Cleaning & Dye Works." The company was in business for almost fifty years during the early twentieth century.
Scope and Content
This album contains images of the exteriors of the store, the interiors of the store showing Mrs. Whitter working, Whittier exiting a company car with clothing on hangers, a worker at the press, and Mrs. Whittier with an armed serviceman. There are several snapshots of Mrs. Whittier with a group of young women. Many of the same snapshots have been enlarged and are shown again. The World War II-era album is embossed on the cover with a 'V' for victory, along with an American eagle, war planes, warship, tank, and howitzer.
