Historical Note

Major Reybold was an iron excursion steamer, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It made daily family excursions down the Bay to Woodland Beach, stopping at Pennsgrove each way. Major Reybold's sister ship was the Thomas Clyde.

Scope and Content

This collection contains a photographic copy print of a painting loaned to the Hagley Museum by John Reybold. The steam ship, Major Reybold, is located on the Delaware River. Its nautical features include: a smokestack, side wheel, flag, pennant, lifeboat, passengers, and deck.

This photographic print is a copy of a painting (36.5 x 26.5 in.) owned by John Reybold. The painting was loaned to the Hagley Museum for copying as an oral history reference.
