E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company a chemical company, was founded in 1802. The DuPont Company celebrated its 150th anniversary on July 18, 1952, on the site of the original Eleutherian Mills. Throughout the 1920s, the emphasis shifted towards the development of synthetic fibers and other materials. The DuPont Company celebrated its 150th anniversary on July 18, 1952, on the site of the original Eleutherian Mills.
