Josephine Anderson du Pont (1853-1943) was a suffragist and the wife of Victor du Pont Jr. (1852-1911), vice president and general manager of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.

Josephine Anderson was born March 11, 1853, in Philadelphia. She was educated in private schools before marrying Victor du Pont Jr. in 1880. Following her husband's death, du Pont became more engaged in public activism, specifically the suffrage movement. The growing movement in Delaware, combined with her friendship with Florence Bayard Hilles (1865-1954), provided du Pont the opportunity to find her voice within the movement's militant sectore Early in 1915, they worked together for a state suffrage amendment, an undertaking that failed. When Hilles became the Delaware Chairman of the National Woman's Party, du Pont served as vice chairman on and off for several years. Following Delaware finally ratifying the Nineteenth Amendment in 1923, du Pont continued to be active in the National Women's Party and supported their push for an equal rights amendment.
